Information for Parents – Summer 2018
Topics for this term: Beachcombers
This half term our topic is Beachcombers. Oh I do like to be beside the seaside! Do you? That’s good because you’re about to become an expert beachcomber! Head for your nearest beach to look for interesting and unusual objects, using your senses to spot, sniff and seek them out.
Have you seen the rock pools yet? We can take a peek into the cool water to learn about the weird and wonderful animals and plants in their habitats. Maybe we can kickback in the deckchair and do a little reading… What’s your favourite book about the seashore? Then invent your own amazing rock pool resident! What features will it need to survive happily in its watery habitat?
Our role play areas will include – a beach, an ice cream van and a seaside shop. We will be learning rhymes, songs and reading a variety of stories linked to our topics.
Where possible we will fit our literacy, number, science, dance, IT, music and art into the topic too.
We will also be celebrating Sports Day.
